The origin of DRYNJA can be traced back to the shared interest in craftsmanship, jewelry, and business of the mother-son duo Jónína and Lárus Örn.

Jónína was fortunate to be born into a family where many enjoyed craftsmanship. There was a lot of knitting, sewing, and woodworking. She found her niche in her teenage years when she began creating her own jewelry. To this day, this hobby has given her immense joy—she has been able to lose herself in creation after a busy day, learn about stones and metals, and gift people jewelry made by herself, and so on.

In 2023, this hobby took on a new and even more exciting form when Jónína and Lárus Örn started exploring the possibility of offering their designs for sale. They work well together and complement each other.
